GLOOMY DAY

By Mia Ghibee

As I wait on this gloomy day,

In the corner where I used to stay,

My heart beats strong, the clock ticks away,

Adrenaline rush caught my breath, I pray.

Excitement builds as I yearn for your smile,

The warm embrace that comforts and beguiles,

But when you're gone, I sit and wait awhile,

Watching the raindrops fall in a mournful style.

Tears well up as I long to see you again,

Pain takes over, joy seems to wane, and then,

I wonder where you are, my hero of the night,

Do you not want to see me, or are you out of sight?

My hero, I know, will come to rescue me,

Expressing my feelings, that he never see,

But my actions speak of my love so deep,

Whispering trees, wind, and rain, my secrets keep.

I once had some of your attention, now I want it all,

Jealousy, I fear, might make me fall,

I adore you, and losing you would be a pain,

I'd rather be with you than without you, it's plain.

I know I can love you, there's no need for hope,

Hugging you, in the wind and my memories, I cope,

Show me right now at a count of three,

So that the gloomy day will turn into a sunny day.
